How Actors Can Manifest During The Summer Solstice

Self-Care

During the Summer Solstice, we can attune to the cycles of nature and our own personal cycles (of our bodies and those of our friends and community)—and connect to our truest desires.

You can’t deny something cosmic is happening this month! Not only is the longest day of the year (AKA the Summer Solstice and the best time to manifest!) next week, but through the month of June, you’ll be able to spot the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn aligned in the night sky. The next alignment event of this kind isn’t due until 2161! So, I wanted to make sure you had my top tips to take advantage of this energy to manifest more for your life— and your acting career.

People have been poppin’ bubbly for the Summer Solstice since the time of the ancient Greeks and secretive Druids, gathering to honor the longest day of the year with some serious celebrating. In between the planting and harvesting seasons, it was the perfect time for our ancestors to kick back and relax. Plus, the inherent sunshine and good weather made it easier to gather together.

The date it occurs this year, June 21st, is super powerful. The idea is that when we attune to the cycles of nature and our own personal cycles (of our bodies and those of our friends and community), we connect to our deepest desires. It’s also a more effective time to manifest what we want in our life.

Morning Ritual

Get Serious About Your Morning Ritual

If you’ve been hesitating to fully adopt a morning routine, this is the perfect time. Take advantage of those extra hours of daylight by rising early. Welcome the sun’s rays with gratitude. Not only is this practice a mood booster, but reminding you of the wonderful things in your life (especially those not relating to work) will increase your confidence and overall satisfaction.

The solstice marks the first day of astronomical summer, so it’s a perfect halfway point to check in with yourself. Reflect on creative projects you began at the beginning of the year. What progress have you made so far? Where do you need to make adjustments?

Host a Solstice Party

I love the idea of pooling energy with other creative people and a solstice party is a fun way to do that. Now, this event can absolutely be co-ed, but I personally like the idea of it being a women’s circle celebration. Especially since this is also a time of cosmic fertility in nature. (It’s also why June is the month for weddings.) So here are a few tips to gather your friends and party with a purpose and start the summer season off on a high-vibe note!

Honor The Season

Since we’re on a mission to manifest, include a ritual at your solstice celebration that unites your girlfriends and reflects the connection between all things in nature this special time of year. You could hold a guided group meditation or breath work, which will get the energy flowing between everyone.

I especially think this Guided Meditation for Abundance is perfect for actors. Abundance doesn’t have to translate to just wealth, but auditions, connections, opportunities to grow as an artist and, of course, enjoying good health.

Once you’re done, it’s a great time to rest and set intentions for the coming season. Go around the circle and ask each woman to share what she’d like to release and what she’s grateful for to cap off the experience. You can even write down what you’d like to release and burn the notes in a fire-proof bowl or shell.

Incorporate The Elements

Fire:

Fire is probably the most important element you want to work with here. It is a powerful force of transformation. When you work with the fire element, the fire helps you burn through outdated beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve you.

Load up on crystals and candles. Spread that warm glow of candlelight over the table setting, the bar, the bathroom, wherever your guests will be throughout the night. Tap into the fiery energy of crystals like fire opal, citrine, and stones associated with the astrological sign Cancer like moonstone, mother of pearl and selentite. Set up an altar of transformation decorated with your candles, crystals, favorite minerals, and seasonal fruit.

Wind:

It seems like whenever there is a summer party now, everyone wears white. Thankfully, this attire helps keep things feeling light and airy. And who doesn’t love a cute, new summer dress? Plus, it keeps you cool in the rising temperatures.

Opt for linen or cotton gauze fabric and a flowing silhouette. Bright colors that reflect the season are still great too; just pick a material that keeps your outfit feeling light. You want to be cozy and comfortable, but still feel a little magical.

Earth:

If you’re serving a meal, my suggestion is always real, whole foods — maybe even solely bought from your local Farmers Market. This way you can ensure the food is in-season. Try to include tastes that are associated with the Summer Solstice, like basil, cinnamon, sage, thyme, and rose.

For added fragrances, if you need/want them, turn to lavender, pine, or rose. These invoke fields, forests and gardens, very natural environments of grounded energy and calm.

As another fun, DIY project for the group, you can assemble flower crowns to wear during the party or wands for more mystical blessings.

Water:

Another project I really enjoy is Shibori tie dye. This is an ancient Japanese dyeing technique that exclusively uses an indigo hue. The results are always unique, gorgeous and a great keepsake for the party.

Here are a few DIY methods, but if you don’t have a crafty thumb, you might want to outsource to a professional guest instructor from a local craft studio.

And after all the more sedentary activities, why not sweat it out with impromptu dance party? What a great way to detox your body of any negative energy from the previous seasons and celebrate your friendship with a little booty shakin’. Everyone dances, sings and laughs together, and it’s a great way to wrap up the whole event with big smiles.

Alright, my friends, it’s time to put your planning hats on! I want to see pictures of your Summer Solstice rituals. Post them to Instagram and tag me @moniquaplantewellness!
