Let’s talk Spring self care, my friends. Spring conjures up strong images of flipping mattresses, donating old outfits and scrubbing your shower tiles, doesn’t it?

But what if we could give our mind and spirit a good once-over too?

You can! You just need to fold in self-care practices designed to jumpstart your season (and your soul.)  Read on for my Top 5 simple rituals to help you enjoy a vibrant and bountiful Spring.

Spring cleaning:

Of course, springtime is the right time to give your home a good cleaning, pare down your stuff and organize your space. Having a clean and beautiful environment, filled with items that make you happy (hello, Marie Kondo) will certainly put a spring in your step (no pun intended).

As you’re clearing out those cobwebs, don’t overlook the negative energy piling up in those hidden corners. A dust buster just won’t cut it here. You’ll need to sage that $h!t, girl! Here is my favorite way to top off a clean space with an energy reboot: Detox Your Home With Smudging.

Release:

It’s not just physical clutter you can get rid of; use this change in seasons to evaluate what excess mental baggage you’re carrying around too. Spend some time journaling, and ask yourself what limiting beliefs or negative experiences are you holding on to that no longer serve you. Perhaps you’re still replaying an old heartbreak in your mind or a time at work you felt you performed poorly. Maybe you’re judging yourself for not having X, Y, and Z already.

While there is no switch to heal your emotions overnight, spending thoughtful time with yourself to give those wounds some TLC will bring you at least a few steps closer to releasing that pain for good.

Manifest:

You probably already know how much I believe in the power of thoughts to manifest some truly magnificent things in life. So, here are two tools to help you call in more prosperity and abundance this Spring.

Vision Coach Barbara Biziou’s Prosperity Ritual:

“Get a bowl and fill it with coins. Step outside your front door and bless each coin with abundance and success. Now, throw them into your home. As silly as it might feel, keep them there for 24 hours. Then give the coins away to affirm the prosperity you have created.”

Here’s an easy meditation that you can use whenever you want to call in more health, wealth and joy into your life.  It’s less than five minutes, so no excuses that you don’t have time to meditate!

Settle down in a cozy spot in your home and press play.

 

Energize your Spring self care:

You’re bound to work up a little sweat cleaning your home, but don’t let all the beautiful, bright and breezy days go by without feeling a little sunshine on your face too! Take a cue from your fellow animals and get moving. Go for a picnic. Hit up a nature trail. Find a shady spot by the water to practice a gentle cycle of yoga poses. Breathe in that fresh air.

Springtime is ripe for you to invigorate your senses, and energize your spirit. Don’t waste it.

Explore self care:

Take your activities a step further and try something out of your comfort zone. Don’t think of it as risk-taking. Envision you are stepping in line with Mother Nature, who’s also coming out of her shell and blooming right now. And you don’t have to jump out of a plane to prove this point! Just stray a little from the same old things you always choose to do.

It may feel scary or awkward at first, but that’s normal (and part of what makes new experiences worthwhile.)
