With all the intense energy that is swirling around in the world right now, a Heart Opening Meditation felt like the right thing to share. Emotions are running so high – anger, fear, grief, frustration, betrayal – but there is also a lot of hope.
So today, I want us to focus on the positive, especially love and connection. That is what I am really leaning into right now, the innate kinship between all of us as human beings.
We are one.
So, find a comfortable seat or even lay down, if you prefer. I like to sit on the floor a meditation pillow and get some back support from my couch. Normally, I would recommend not getting into a position where you might fall asleep, but in this case, if you need some zzz’s, listen to your body!
Quiet your mind (and your smartphone), so you can get the maximum benefit from this meditation. Shake out the tension in your muscles, and take a few deep, soothing breathes.
Now you’re ready to let in the love with this Heart Opening Meditation.
This exercise is only about ten minutes, but don’t be afraid to break it into sections, if you need to. Even if you only have a few minutes in your schedule to devote to this practice, believe me, your mind body and spirit will thank you!
